P6 & P7 pupils and parents considering their options for the future received a very warm welcome from teachers and students at this year's Open Nights.
Welcomed by Mrs O’Neill, parents and pupils learned that we at St Louis are committed to providing excellent educational opportunities. Mrs O’Neill highlighted the school’s focus on enabling every young person to develop their unique talents to the full in a secure, caring environment, including individualised mentoring support.
Mrs O’Neill told parents that,
“At St Louis each and every child is valued and matters. As parents I appreciate that when you are choosing a school you are entrusting your son or daughter in the care of the school and staff as they become young adults and form values for life. We take that responsibility very seriously at St Louis and we are committed to providing our students with the best possible educational experience.
Our school is characterised by positive relationships – you will see the genuine care and positive relationships between students and staff tonight. At St Louis we promote positive relationships with our parents. Our parents are welcomed, and their views respected – experience has taught me that children are happiest and achieve best when school and parents work in partnership and that is a key strength of our school. St Louis is very much a family school and a community”.
Regularly recognised as one of the top performing schools in Northern Ireland, demonstrated by our exceptional exam results, St Louis is also dedicated to the highest levels of pastoral care. Awarded the Gold Investor in Mental Health standard and a certified Autism friendly school, our teachers are committed to supporting pupils to be happy in school and to achieve the very best they can.
Mrs O’Neill highlighted the outstanding Creative Arts Centre, 3G pitches and was delighted to announce new investment in Science facilities,
“St Louis is committed to continually improving and to give every pupil the opportunity to excel, no matter where their interests lie and which career path they wish to pursue in the future”.
Young people and their parents were then able to experience all that St Louis offers. From experiments with popcorn to 3D printing, from stick insects to Spanish and from dissection to drama the full range of opportunities available to young people was on show. All demonstrated by existing pupils, with some support from their teachers!
