Absence

Parents are required to inform the school of the reason for their child’s absence on the first day they are off school. All absence notifications should be sent to our dedicated attendance email address:

When contacting us, parents should include:

• Pupil’s surname and forename
• Form class

(Please place these details in the email subject line.)

In the main body of the email, parents must provide a clear and specific reason for the absence, as required by DENI guidelines (e.g. “stomach upset,” rather than the general term “illness”).Please also indicate the expected duration of the absence.If the absence is likely to continue for a longer period, parents should explain the circumstances so the school can arrange appropriate support.
