Year 8 & 9 Digital Skills Day 2025
Our Year 8 and 9 students had an amazing experience enhancing their digital skills during Digital Skills Day! The day was packed with interactive activities designed to boost confidence and creativity in the digital world.
✅ Kahoot Quizzes – Students tested their knowledge in fun, competitive challenges.
✅ Subject specific apps - Year 9 used MyMaths and Year 8 used Languagenut in French and Spanish class to perfect their vocabulary and phrases.
✅ Research Tasks – They explored online resources to gather and evaluate information effectively, with Year 9 focusing on researching what a Tudor Christmas was like in History class and Year 8 researching various types of medical plasters and creating a PowerPoint of their findings.
✅ PowerPoint Presentations – Creativity shone through as students designed engaging slides to share their findings in Art, where Year 8 created presentations about Colour Theory. In French class, Year 9 used PowerPoint and Adobe Express to present their research on Christmas Traditions in France.
✅ Microsoft Teams Collaboration – Teamwork was at the heart of the day, with students using Microsoft Teams and Google Classroom to communicate and collaborate seamlessly.
✅ Graphic Design Software – In English class, Year 9 were challenged with using either Canva or Adobe Express to design a poster for their own version of 'A Christmas Carol', the book they have been studying this term. They studied pictorial stimuli in preparation for their own character image. In RE lessons, Year 8 used Canva to reflect on key moments in their lives to date, using various templates and styles and include photos to enhance their projects.
A fantastic effort from everyone – well done to all involved! 💻✨ We look forward to making Digital Skills Day an annual event!
