E.M.A. PAYMENTS - 08456017646
Educational Maintenance Allowance (E.M.A)
Your child may be eligible for a weekly E.M.A. payment for attending school. E.M.A.
stands for Educational Maintenance Allowance. It is a payment of up to £30 per week,
paid fortnightly to eligible students, to help with the cost of continuing with further
education. It is intended to help cover the day-to-day costs that they must meet when
they stay on at school or college like travel costs, books, and equipment for their course.
To find out whether or not you are eligible for E.M.A. check the criteria on the E.M.A.
website www.emani.gov.uk
If your child meets all of the eligibility criteria, they should complete the E.M.A.
application form which is provided by Stacy in reception. If they are accepted for E.M.A.,
they must sign an E.M.A. Learning Agreement in which they agree to abide by the school
rules, to attend all their classes and to attend all your examinations. Should they break
their E.M.A. Learning Agreement and Sixth Form Code of Conduct, they may not be
eligible for E.M.A. payments or bonuses which are paid at intervals during the year.
Students receiving E.M.A. must send notes to sbaird279@c2kni.net
Students MUST do this within 14 days of absence. Failure to do so will result in
non-payment for that period of absence. Students are reminded to read the E.M.A.
agreement that is signed by the pupil at the start of the year.
