World Book Day 2021!
Happy World Book Day Everyone!
Look what our Key Stage 3 pupils have been up to over the past couple of weeks to celebrate World Book Day.
Year 8 have been taking part in our annual 'Book Idol' competition (with a remote learning twist) and have produced some outstanding book reviews with a difference!
Watch the video announcement below for our winners - it is worth a watch to see the incredible talent we have in Year 8!
Pupils across Key Stage 3 have also participated in an 'Emoji Book Quiz'; a 'Design your own Bookmark' competition and Year 8 will have a live book-themed Kahoot at lunchtime today! Winners for all competitions will be announced this afternoon!
Finally, we have been encouraging our pupils to 'Drop Everything and Read' and are allocating an English period over the next couple of days for pupils to take some time out to read something that interests them! We have asked students to take a selfie with their book so that we can share it on Twitter and our non-teaching staff are taking part in their own 'Drop Everything and Read' event as well!
It is a very different World Book Day this year, but our pupils have really engaged with our remote celebrations and we are very proud of the work they have put in!
