Gold President's Award Fundraising

Following the success of their Christmas draw, the Lower Sixth students involved in the 2017/18 Gold President’s Award held two Easter fundraisers.  On Wednesday 28th March, they held a Crepe and Bun Sale in Room 12.  Thanks to Mr Quinn and his assistants for making the tasty crepes and to all the students who helped out on the day.


The students also donated items for a raffle with the main prize being a large hamper of Easter goodies.  The draw took place on Wednesday afternoon and the winners were:


Large Easter Hamper – Eoin McCusker (Lower Sixth)

Small Easter Hamper -  Eva Scott (8 Lismoyle)

Mini Eggs Easter Egg – Shea McAllister (Lower Sixth)

Crème Egg Easter Egg – Dan Doherty c/o C Doherty (General Office)

Malteasers Easter Egg – Sarah Carey (8 Lismoyle)


As well as undertaking various components of the Award outside of school, the President’s Award students have been preparing for their upcoming expeditions during enrichments classes.  They will depart for the Mournes after Easter for a two night practice hike with the qualifying expedition taking place over four nights in Wicklow in June 2018.  Fundraising helps offset the costs involved in undertaking the Award so all students must be commended for their endeavours to date.  We wish them well in the remaining aspects of the Award.
