Book Week NI

What a fantastic week we had celebrating Book Week NI!

We started off the week with our Year 8 prize-giving assembly for the Summer Reading Challenge Winners. A winner from each class received a Waterstones Book voucher as their prize. Well done to all Year 8 pupils involved!

To promote a reading for pleasure culture throughout the school each member of staff was asked to give the title of the book they were currently reading. This was then put up as a ‘I am Reading’ poster on their classroom doors. The pupils loved to see what staff were reading and it even gave them ideas for different authors to try next!

Competitions were held in the library throughout the week starting on Monday with ‘Guess the title of the Book in the Jar’. It didn’t take our worthy winner long to work out the answer! Well done Annie!

Then Wednesday’s Competition ‘Guess the Book Covers’ was a very popular one with our Year 8 pupils. Congratulations to our winner Adam Donnelly in 8 Lurig!

Finally, at Year 8 Club we had a Book based competition with 4 book prizes up for grabs. Well done to our winners Kevin McAleese, Aaron Doherty, Rory McLaughlin & Conor O’Loan. What a way to finish our fun-filled week! Happy reading everyone!
