Your son/daughter will soon be making their choices for GCSE. In an ever changing economy, young people today face a number of challenging decisions about their future. It is more important than ever that young people make their career choices wisely. Many young people turn to parents and carers for careers advice and with this in mind we are holding an event in school to help with this.
To help equip you to advise and guide your child in these important decisions, we have engaged with eye4education, a leading employability and education organisation, to develop an interactive and engaging information session that will, in a short period of time, bring you, the parents of our year 10 pupils, up to speed on the future demand in the NI labour market, the qualifications demanded by employers, the progression routes for pupils from year 10 to the job market (including alternative routes), the impact that STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) companies will have on the NI economy and the demand for STEM and non-STEM qualified employees within those STEM companies. We therefore are pleased to invite you to our:
Employability Information Night for Parents on Wednesday 5th of March at 7pm
We will be working with the pupils over the next few months in school, but this is a chance for you, the parents, to get engaged with the Careers Department and eye4education to prepare yourself to support your child in making these very important Career decisions.
This event will be opened out to other schools so in order to gauge numbers can you please return the supply slip as soon as possible. Pupils are not expected to attend this event.
